(WXYZ) – The new Cadillac ATS is driving the addition of 600 new jobs at the Lansing Grand River Plant. Action News first reported the plans to add a second shift at the plant in October of 2010.
The ATS is the auto maker’s entry into the small luxury segment. It will be the smallest Cadillac and should compete with the BMW 3 series and the Mercedes Benz C class.
The Lansing Grand River plant is a dedicated Cadillac facility. It already builds several versions of the CTS.
GM indicates that most of the new jobs are already filled. The new employees will be second tier employees, making approximately $16 dollars an hour.
